Brad Tidwell is currently the Campus Services Coordinator at the Leadership Institute for colleges in Virginia, West Virginia, DC and Maryland. As Campus Services Coordinator, he manages field representatives in the Mid-Atlantic region, directs Leadership Institute resources to conservative organizations on college campuses there and coordinates activism events across the United States with other regional coordinators.
Brad graduated Tulane University shortly before joining the Leadership Institute in August 2009. Brad took classes at American University over the summer to finish his Bachelor’s of Political Science a year early. The preceding fall, Brad was a student at American University’s Washington Semester Program.
During Fall 2008, Brad worked as an intern in the eCampaign division of the RNC under the leadership of Cyrus Krohn. There, he worked on developing conservative grassroots networking, web application creation and GOP website maintenance functions.
While at the Washington Semester Program, Brad wrote a paper about the use social networking titled “Successful Online Campaigning: A Focus on the 2008 Presidential Campaign”. This paper was awarded a Pollie Award for Best Use of Social Networking by the American Association of Political Consultants. The paper discussed the evolution of social media in presidential campaigns since 1996, and the most effective strategies employed in each case.
Brad has also worked for Entracity Inc. as a contributing editor for PreciseNews.us, a news aggregation website which provides access to original, unique breaking news stories from around the internet every few minutes. There, he submitted and published original conservative commentary, refined website usability factors, beta-tested new applications and proofread code and implemented and distributed web applications through social networks.
At Tulane, Brad was an Undergraduate Student Government Senator for 2 years, Vice President of the College Republicans, political advocate for the Tulane Firearm Owners Association and secretary of the Tulane Debate Society.
