Abel S. Delgado is a junior at Washington and Lee University majoring in International Politics while completing capstone programs in Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Environmental Studies. He is a columnist for The Ring Tum Phi Newspaper routinely writing about national politics and foreign policy. The grandson of a former political prisoner and son of political exiles, Abel joined the Republican Party for its commitment to individual liberties, free markets, and the American Dream. Growing up in Miami-Dade County, a community as politically diverse as it is culturally, gave him ample opportunity to debate left-leaning professors and students and he still enjoys the challenge.
