In a townhall event Tuesday last week, President Obama informed the audience that they should be weary of fearmongering. The irony of such comments seems to have been lost on the many sycophants in the pre-selected crowd that day. All this administration has offered now for months in defense of its abysmal track record is [...]

It has been said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different esults. In the natural sciences, a consistency of results is desired to substantiate or discredit a hypothesis. Thus undertaking the same task repeatedly while seeking a different outcome each time is counterproductive.

Despite some probable Republican gains this year, Democrats have a good chance of retaining control of Congress next year. Fortunately for Republicans, Democrats nationally have opted for a losing strategy; blaming George W. Bush. Then again, with a track record like that of this Congress, one cannot fault Democratic strategists for trying to distract the electorate this [...]

It has been said that there are two parties in the United States; a stupid party and an evil party. Ideology seems to be a topic of renewed interest in the United States at present. While ideologues on all sides have long reveled in their exagerated banter, it seems that the media is now involved. Complicating matters, however, was the revelation in recent weeks that one organization researching anthropogenic global warming was suppressing research running contrary to their claims. Good science [...]

The White House this week advised mainstream media outlets against taking the Fox News Channel and its stories seriously. This would, of course, include stories like the ACORN scandal and the opinions of former Obama “Green Jobs” czar Van Jones who resigned amidst relevations relating to his signature on a petition endorsing a 9/11 conspiracy theory. Senator [...]

I just wanted to point out a wonderful financial news blog that, although completely non-partisan, should be a weekly read for anyone looking to keep up with important economic news. The analysis is immaculately insightful yet incredibly down-to-earth and sensible. The blog is run by distinguished entrepreneur and Carnegie Mellon University professor of entrepreneurship R.F. [...]

Thomas Edsall from the Huffington Post came out with an article last week that slams the GOP for supposedly playing racial politics – casting the debate over heath care as a battle between white taxpayers vs. minority welfare queens. Edsall’s theory goes that Republicans couldn’t effectively shape policy in their minority position, so they have [...]
