We have immigration laws in this country and it is offensive to hear Hispanics whine about bigots when they talk up the racism straw man when so many other people actually follow the rules when it comes to immigration. Want to come to America? Try waiting in line behind everyone else. Being Hispanic entitles you to no special treatment at the expense of Canadians, Rwandans, Indians, Swedes, Thai or Brazillians who are trying to come here. The subtext of your post is that we should toss aside our national interests in order to score votes and reward those who cheat in order to live here or not risk offending those voters who want the rest of us to look the other way on their friends, relatives or racial ilk. Looking the other way when people commit crimes merely legitimizes the act and encourages more illegal behavior. We are a sovereign nation with every right to enforce our borders.
