While the President of the United States spent his weekend validating much of the negative campaign rhetoric launched against him last year, the Maryland Federation of College Republicans held their annual convention. I was among those fortunate enough to attend said convention. As an attendee to that convention, I witnessed firsthand the real potential that exists among young leaders in the GOP.
As President Obama’s continue, Republicans can and must prepare strong grassroots operations to challenge Democrats in all 50 states. President Obama has done some things right during his first 100 days in office, but his policies and actions seem to become more reckless with time, and most real signs have change have faded. The for greater state interference in health care exemplifies that. Sadly, it now seems that the only substantive change offered may be that the President of the United States is unwilling to defend his office and his country when tin-pot despots and has-beens denounce the country in his presence. Perhaps he was listening to those Jeremiah Wright sermons afterall.
