Clinton’s “Smart Power” Not So Smart

Since I’ve repeatedly driven home the importance of good branding, I wanted to briefly catch this story. Secretary of State Clinton has decided to brand her approach to diplomacy in two simple words: “Smart Power.” Fox News has a piece about how various marketing experts find this slogan to be abysmal

Folks, this is the difference between good branding and bad branding. More importantly, it may well represent a huge part of why Hillary Clinton is Secretary of State while her former opponent Barack Obama sits in the Oval Office.
