The #1 story should be the mysterious, untimely death of Michael Connell. http://www.RoveCyberGate.com

We already have examined Ron Paul - see http://www.nextgengop.com/2008/11/13/recognizing-the-lessons-of-the-ron-paul-revolution/

In any case, he didn't end up on this list because the big Ron Paul stories occurred in 2007, not 2008!

If this site is for the future of the GOP then why have you NOT mentioned the one story from the GOP that used technology to its fullest..... RON PAUL!

Come on, he raised millions online and ran his campaign from the web with videos, twitter, IMs, etc. .... Examine his success with tech and maybe, just maybe, HIS MESSAGE and you will see the future of politics....

I thought that this site was a great use of web technologies - http://seantevis.com/ He didn't win, but he made a pretty good run. I know it's not top 10, but I still think it is worth mentioning. His site is very well constructed and he embraced many of the concepts in this list. I especially like the way he raised money using a micro approach.

I agree that Obama's ability to raise so much online from so many people is a milestone. What he did was give the election to the people. He would have lost sorely if he couldn't have raised the money. And that would have been their decision as well. It also marks a milestone for the electorate. That this nation would vote for our President Elect over a decorated war veteran. We have not seen anything like this in our history as a nation. It is not about the candidates. It is about us and what we want and have to say. http://active-intellect.com/2008/12/28/thoughtful-electorate/
