With 2008 quickly coming to a close, it’s time for various blogs and media outlets to begin posting their “Top 10 [Noun]s of 2008″ lists. Time magazine published Some of them, like Eliot Spitzer, John Edwards, and Ted Stevens undoubtedly belong, though I question if Palin’s $150,000 wardrobe really deserves to make that list.
In any case, the turning of the year also marks another tradition: the New Year’s Resolution. I say that our New Year’s Resolution for the Republican Party should be, “No More Tolerance for Scandals.” Next year, let’s try to ensure that no Republican makes Time‘s list of the “Top 10 Scandals of 2009.” In 2009, let’s fight to restore accountability and ethics to the political culture. That would be one huge step toward revitalizing our image.
P.S. If you want to be even more infuriated, check out Time‘s list of the For example, $2 Million for Children’s Wooden Arrow Makers, $192 Million for U.S. Territories’ Rum Industries, and $460,752 for Beer Ingredient.

I think the GOP needs to develop a cutthroat policy concerning all nefarious politicians. They need to begin by outlining what actions are allowed by Republicans and which are not. Everyone we send should know that if they are caught doing wrong, regardless of the courts, the GOP will mercilessly cut them off.
