Having conducted my research and having heard what the candidates have to say, I have decided that I am throwing my support behind Michael Steele to become the Republican National Committee Chairman. While I will not deny there are a couple of personal biases which led me to this conclusion, I believe that after looking at other candidates, he is the best suited to lead our party into the future.

There are a lot of people who are pulling for Newt Gingrich. I like Newt, but I have some reservations. This is one of them: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/16/newt-gingrich-sarah-palin_n_144201.html?page=9.

However, Michael Steel solidified my support with his call for new leadership on his website: http://www.steele4gopchair.com/.

I believe Michael Steele will encourage the party to use fresh faces to communicate its root philosophy. By encouraging Hispanics, African Americans and women to step forward and articulate the conservative philosophy, the party will have a great opportunity to reach out to these constituencies. His website also touts him as a Proud Team Sarah member, which probably also explains my bias toward him.

I encourage everyone to support him.
